I hope your students love this project as much as mine do! There are labels in this pack to glue on the front of the pockets or you can write the names using a sharpie if desired. Remember to set the printer on the best quality setting. The cards will last longer and be more sturdy. For best results, print the cards on cardstock or premium brochure and flyer paper from Office Depot. I recommend buying LIBRARY CARD POCKETS if you plan to have students collect them or keep them for other units. (COMING SOON: NEW Trading Cards for my other units!) Then I had a thought.What if students could save and collect trading cards throughout the school year for different units? These cards could be saved to review for tests or just for fun. It’s also a great way to practice summarizing. So I knew it would be fun for students to make their own trading cards about famous people in history. Over the years, I have seen my own children fall in love with collecting trading cards such as Pokemon. It includes trading cards for the following influential people: Lastly, they will create a trading card for each person listed below. Students will read about 7 historical figures that played an important part in the American Civil War and then answer comprehension questions on the organizers. You can play that alongside another scheme and use the Blank cards as Scheme Twists that activate Portals to the Dark Dimension.Take a look at this Civil War activity that is sure to captivate your students. It's a great Scheme, but has a boring ending. Portals to the Dark Dimension is a good example. However, it could go in and work alongside another Scheme, you just leave out that final Twist. Any Scheme that has a 7th or 8th Twist that just reads 'evil wins' I find to be really boring. Some Schemes are just not great because they ultimately are just a countdown timer. If you want to ramp UP the difficulty of the game, you can add in a secondary Scheme. When a card is drawn, nothing happens that turn. Because Legendary scales in a way that means more players = higher difficulty, this can be a nice way to reduce the difficulty just a bit. Add a number of these into the Villain Deck for each player you have.
